For the third year running, Denvir organised Northern Ireland's biggest and best FREE consumer food and drink event, Tesco's Taste Northern Ireland, which went down a storm with food and drink enthusiasts at Custom House Square, in Belfast, last weekend.
Following the success of the 2010 event, Denvir was brought on board to make the 2011 event even bigger and better than before, and to position the 'Taste Northern Ireland' event as Belfast's premier consumer food and drink event, with entertainment for all the family.
Denvir managed all aspects of the event from start to finish by raising awareness of the event in the Greater Belfast area, driving to over 12,000 visitors to the event over the weekend. This was achieved through a targeted PR and Marketing strategy providing event information and incentives to attend through news and feature editorial coverage, in addition to promotional and competition mechanics.
The event was officially opened by Ian Murphy, Invest NI's Managing Director of Clients and Entrepreneurship who welcomed visitors to take a culinary tour through Northern Ireland, showcasing the best of Northern Irish produce and sampling local food and drink from all over the region.
The Tesco Cookery Theatre, hosted cookery demonstrations from an array of Northern Irish chefs including Jenny Bristow, Paul Rankin and Niall McKenna. While The Kids Zone, sponsored by Dale Farm, was home to balloon modellers, face painters and Dale Farm's Daisy the Cow. Kids were also kept occupied throughout the weekend by children's entertainment groups, Cahoots NI and Jump, Jiggle and Jive.
Visitors were also treated to a host of entertainment, including the Singing Farmer and Fiddler Adam, as well as a fantastic outdoor display from World of Owls.
