Denvir Shines Light on City Cultural Event

We are delighted to announce our appointment by Aberdeen City Council to execute a dynamic marketing campaign for the Festival of Light event ‘SPECTRA’ which returns to the city in February 2015.

Last year’s inaugural event, which attracted over 17,000 visitors, included numerous light installations, exhibitions and events to appeal and engage with the residents of the city and surrounding areas as well as tourists from the UK and abroad.

As the event moves into its second year, the organisers aim for it to be an annual destination-making occurrence that earns cultural recognition for the city and allows local communities and visitors to re-discover Aberdeen in a different light.

Jane Maher, Regional Director North East, said: “We are thrilled about this opportunity and honoured to have a role to play in Aberdeen’s cultural event programme.

“Denvir has a strong background in delivery of projects for councils across Scotland as well as international arts and culture events, and we look forward to applying that experience to benefit Aberdeen and its profile as an exciting place to be.

“Whilst we already advise a large number of oil and gas sector organisations in Aberdeen, it is fantastic to have the opportunity to bring such a key cultural project into our client portfolio to showcase our breadth of skills in this area.”

We are proud to have the responsibility of marketing the Festival of Light and together with the event organisers, Curated Space, will provide a campaign that will engage and inspire those who live in Aberdeen and its surrounding areas.

Mark Bremner, Cultural Policy and Partnerships Officer at Aberdeen City Council stated ““it was a competitive tender and we’ve received a number of excellent submissions but felt that Denvir’s proposal and experience demonstrated the innovation, knowledge and skills required to make this project a success.”
